Filing directly with the Income Tax Department opens once our e-Return Intermediary registration is approved. Until then you can prepare, review and export a return, but nothing is submitted on your behalf.

Questions about cost

Is it really free?

Preparing and reviewing your own return is free while we are in beta, for all four ITR forms. There is no document limit and no feature held back. When filing opens we intend self-serve returns to stay free — the business is in the cases where a Chartered Accountant is genuinely needed.

So when do I have to pay?

Only when a person is involved. Either because you asked for a review, or because the Act requires a CA to sign — a tax audit under s.44AB. Most salaried people and investors never hit either.

Do I need the Reviewed plan to file ITR-2 or ITR-3?

No. No ITR form requires a Chartered Accountant. ITR-2 never does, and ITR-3 only does when a s.44AB audit is triggered by your turnover. We will tell you plainly if that applies to you and stay quiet if it does not.

What happens to my data if I stop using it?

Delete a computation and it is gone. Form 16 PDFs are never stored in the first place — only the extracted figures, with your PAN masked.
